Hey everyone it's Nathan....Daddy. I will probably be doing most of the updating this week, as Lisa's full attention will be put towards Ethan's full recovery, as expected. I also want to start by thanking everyone for their kind words, prayers and gifts throughout this whole process. I (we) will try to update this as soon as possible but please bare with us during this time......
First off Ethan has been in surgery since 2:10 and is doing just fine, the procedure could last between 6 and 8 hours.....long day, long week. Today was very rough for the whole family, especially Ethan since he could not have anything to eat at all and we had to stop giving him liquids after 9am. If anyone knows Ethan and his uuuuiiicccc (juice), this did not go well, especially since he has been sick and his throat is dry. Speaking of that, God somehow took Ethan's cough away from him and gave it to me for his surgery, thanks Lord, but anything to help my son. Grammie and Nan (Shannon) kept Ethan occupied all morning to help the day go fast.
When we first arrived here this morning at 10:30 we let Ethan play in the lobby to help him relax and then it was off to day surgery. We started off the day by taking Ethan to have a chest xray to be on the safe side and everything looked fine. The nurse then came in and did various tests and checked Ethan's vitals before surgery. The anestisalogist then came to the room and asked Ethan if he wanted "happy juice", this made Ethan very drowsy so they could take him back to the operating room. They came and took Ethan from mommy's arms (tear) at 12:45.
We have a nurse that gives us updates every hour and we just received our last update at 3:55pm and everything is going well in the operating room, they are still doing the adominalplasty. After the abdominalplasty they will trim and replant the ureter as well as exise the diverticulum from his bladder. The next update should hopefully be after he his out of surgery. Thank you everyone and keep praying.....
