Chugga Chugga Choo Choo & Such

Last week, we ventured out to Aunt Shannon and Uncle Adam's area with Laurie and Mr. B-man. First we ate lunch an extremely fun TRAIN restaurant , then visited Aunt Shannon at her house, then ended the day with some shopping...whew! Good Times!! Yes, in the end we were all very tired! Hey you play you pay right?

Below are some pictures that I have wanted to post from our weekend!

Here is Ethan sporting saftey gear for his scooter. These pictures crack me up! Maybe becuase he looks so little with all of that gear on? Or maybe because he is in his pajamas?

Ethan had a vistor....His Paw Paw came to visit! They had a blast together. We love you Paw!

And last but not least.... the baby birds have arrived again this Spring. Above that speaker are two nests of baby robin eggs! Same place as last year, right out our laundry room door.

Back in Action!!!!

We have been busy enjoying family time over here. Ethan has been feeling really good lately. It was almost like overnight, we got our "happy-pain-free" Ethan back. We sure did miss our happy lil man. This past month, Ethan had a rough recovery. If he wasn't in pain ~his medicines were bothering him~ and if it was not those two things it was having to go to the doctor. It almost seemed like even if he was having a somewhat good day by the end of the day he would be so sore with constant pains. Overall, he just has not felt well for a while now. As of last week, Ethan started feeling great. He started to run again, climb all over things, sleep and eat like a champ, play with friends........ you know what I am saying....He has started to feel good and now is back IN ACTION! We could not be happier!! I wanted to share some really fun things Ethan has been doing. I have to say watching Ethan do "new" things for the first time has always warmed my heart. He amazes us each day on how smart he is. Watching him grow through each stage has been so amazing. I always say this....and here I go again..I feel so lucky and blessed that Ethan is my son! Motherhood is so rewarding!
Now here are just some of the many fun things Ethan has been doing~
He can sing " many words out of songs on his favorite television shows, he has a darling voice if Id say so my self !He likes to do the movements that they "aka characters" do on television while singing. He loves to dance!
He can count to 2. He puts his finger up for ONE, its so darn funny how serious he is when doing this. He can do some colors as well. His favorite color to point out is blue.
He likes to point out boo boo's (fake or real) and say "ahh boo boo, iss it" for ahh boo boo, kiss it! He will do this on not only himself, but others as well.
He enjoys naming out his body parts while pointing. Again not only his, but others! He can say many of the body parts like nose, mouth, back(his favorite who knows ha!), toes, teeth, tongue, arm, ear. He is learning them quickly.
He is defiantly a routine-scheduled kind of toddler! Watch out if we forget something in his bedtime routine. He almost flipped a lid tonight when I forgot to pull out his stepping stool for brushing his teeth... funny kiddo!
He continues to love reading books. In his animal books he is very good at remembering what animals say and or what they do. Love this!
His biggest new thing is to carry his "bear" around everywhere. I have tried to sneak the bear to the washer...FAILED! This bear may start to make his debut in many pictures on here.
He loves to golf, and play basketball with daddy and have mama rock him "night night" before bed.. (I truly hope this stage never ends)!!!
Just wanted to share some things our lil guy has been doing. He is growing way to fast..... I cannot believe he will be two in August!

Oh Sunny Days!!!!

Let the Sunshine begin!!!! It has been extra sunny this week! I am more than excited about Spring around the corner. As soon as it hits this time of year we like to start deep cleaning and organizing everything. I also find myself re-decorating around the house, I cannot help myself.I was a lucky wife yesterday, my awesome hubby deep cleaned our garage. It looks beautiful.
Spring= PLAY OUTSIDE!!! Ethan received so many awesome "outside" gifts for his first birthday in August. We are in the process of getting them ready for the outdoors again. We polished all of his riding toys, his radio flyer wagon, his playground "step 2 slide and swing", sand box etc. Ethan also requested that his Ja Ja polishes all of his toys at their house especially his "police car and swing".
Ethan was so HAPPY to be outside yesterday. He needed the fresh air and natural sun. You would have never guessed he was recovering, he was out and about!!! Early morning we meet our playgroup at Kessling Park and walked/talked with strollers. I made sure to fit in shopping at the outlets with my mama during " afternoon-nap-time". I cannot wait to put Ethan in all of his new Spring/summer clothes. Not to mention his swim gear/hats/sandals/ boatshoes.....ahhhhh!I just love it all!
At night ,we had the opportunity to watch Burke(Ethan's buddy) for a while. The boys had a blast! I could not take one picture of those busy bees!

Such a Busy Busy Busy Day ( we needed one of these for a while now)!!!

Oh Spring How I love you!!!! Hope you all have a happy Friday!!

St. Patty's Day!!

Part One- Riley Hospital Visit
We had yet another Riley Hospital visit yesturday for a check up on-how-Ethan's- progress/recovery is doing since surgery. It was another long day on the road and @ the hospital for lil man, but yet again he was a trooper. Doc told us that Ethan so far looks great, and looks as if everything is healing nicely. This all was music to our ears. Our and I think everyone's biggest concern after a major surgery is infection. We are so lucky that Ethan is doing well, and has had no risks at all. The only concern we had today for the doctor was Ethan's "random pains" he is having throughout the day. He will be playing happily and then all of a sudden cry in pain...so sad! Doc said it is all apart of the healing process.
Ethan is simply worn out from the hospital ~ doctor setting not to mention his "long" recovery itself. Since his surgery he has been terrified of doctors, where before surgery he was okay with them. We have a little one who is very smart and knows what the "hospital" is. This all just breaks my heart! Hopefully this will get better with time, think positive right? St. Patty's Day fun to follow..........below......

Ethan was SO TIRED after his visit!!!!

Part Two- St. Patty's Day Fun!!!
We ended our day with some much needed fun. I was SUPER excited because one of my best friends Ashley and her oh so adorable ~ sweetie ~ pie son were in town for the afternoon. We met at our sweet friend Jen's house who is expecting her first little boy soon! Her awesome hubby surprised her with a visit to family back at home last minute, so since we were both in town, we made sure to get together. It's so fun because last year for St. Patty's Day her and Jack came and visited out at our house. So, getting together two years in a row is just plain AWESOME! Ashley the amazing photographer she is took pictures of the boys( those pics to come soon)! It was a BLAST! We already miss them!!!! Here is a picture from last year's St. Patty's Day with Jack Jack!!! You can also check out the post from last year http://ourbabybadger.blogspot.com/2009/03/pictures-from-lisa.html.................

On our way home we ate a yummy dinner and talked how lucky we are to have such a good little boy that gives us so much inspiration in life! Oh, and I cannot leave out stopping at Petco to see the animals " ethan's request"!

It FEELS so Good!

It feels SOOOO... good to see Ethan up and playing these past couple days! He is still very sore but , seems to tolerate any kind of pain he has really well. I LOVED having things back to a schedule this week. Luckily, Ethan gave in and started taking naps. I was able to run errands, crazy that that felt good to do ha! Basically, it felt so good to have things back to normal around here. Not to mention sleeping in our own beds rather than a hospital chair, not complaining just saying!

A couple days ago, I was able to cook these fun number of treats for my dear friend's Birthday! Eating home cooked meals all week defiantly felt good. Speaking of meals, the playgroup "Moms Club" we are apart of made us meals everyday this week SPOILED I KNOW! We are so thankful to be apart of such a great group of friends! Oh..and.. the Penziols took us out to eat last night at the famous Redmax, Thank You L,P,&B Penziol! They take such good care of us as well! Surprisingly & Happily Ethan did a great job with one of his first outings since the hospital...maybe because he was able to hang out with Mr. Burke!

It has been so nice to have a husband home this week, even better that he has off next week as well! He is such a WONDERFUL DADDY! He has not only been taking such great care of his lil guy, he
has let me sleep in a day or two... and even cleaned house! Thankfully, we all have been catching up on sleep every chance we get...I think in the past two weeks we slept about 20 hours total.

Here are some more pictures of Ethan feeling better! It feels good to see him soooo happy! (sorry for the poor quality of these pictures my camera is broke:( , but still wanted to post MR. cutie pie anyways!)

Back Into The Swing of Things.....

We are trying our hardest to get back into the swing of things here in the Badger household. It has been extremely difficult to say the least. It is just hard to try a "schedule" again after being away for a week in a hospital, where things were oh so scary and unfamiliar for Ethan. Today, so far, has given me hope that things are starting to go back to our somewhat normal schedule. Ethan is taking his first "nap" as we speak since we have been home. Nathan and I, are so happy to be in our Home, and get back into the SWING of things. I am more than pumped to go to my workout class tonight after missing it for two long weeks whooohoo! It just feels so good to see Ethan smile and be comfortable, he LOVES his home. Recovery is going to be long, but It amazes us how well Ethan is doing so far. We think, well hope and belive, within weeks he will be climbing all over like the Monkey he is! Boy is Ethan a trooper! Overall, we are just so thankful for being home, never knew how good it would feel!

Nope, this isn't me sneaking in a hospital crib bed with my son just so he would take a nap ha!

Like Father Like Son {when watching TV}!

Ethan was Welcomed Home to a VERY BIG SURPRISE!!!

Ethan's Neat & Tidy Cottage!!! He is SUPER spolied from his Ja Ja and Grandma!
