Hello everyone! As of tomorrow Ethan is already a month old. Wow has time flown by so fast with Ethan. Ethan is such a good baby. He still only seems to cry or get upset when his diaper is dirty or needs to be fed. He has such a funny personality already. He defiantly knows his mama and dada. Nathan and Ethan defiantly have such a special bond. They are so adorable together. Nathan has no problem with this daddy business stuff, in fact if I would let him he would do everything for Ethan. Ethan has continued to wake up at least 3 to 4 times a night. It is getting easier for him to fall back asleep immediately compared to two three weeks ago. We have been so busy lately with friends and family visiting and spending time with Ethan. In the pas tweek we have taken Ethan shopping.. my mom and I joke and call him a "Mall Baby" , because he is so content when we go out and about shopping. When we compared Ethan to a 3 month old baby we saw at the Mall Ethan looked huge. He is a big baby.
Yesterday we had a very early appointment at Riley Hospital for Ethan. It was quite the experience for Nathan and I with a newborn traveling after waking at 4am to leave. Ethan's appointment was a renal exam to see exactly how his kidneys were working/functioning after birth. The exam itself was very hard on us and Ethan. Ethan cried so hard. He had to get an IV and a catheter put in for this exam. The exam took 45 minutes ... but felt like forever with Ethan. I know everyone has said that newborns are to little to remember stuff like this but seeing him so upset killed us. After the test we were told the appointment we had for the next day was cancelled because Ethan's amazing Dr. was able to see us the same day to give us the results of Ethans renal exam. They were very nice to work with us knowing that we had a three hour drive. WE were so happy because we did not want to wait until the next day to see his doctor and hear such big news for our baby boy.We had to travel to Avon just to see the doctor for the results. The only bad part is that we had to wait a long long time in the docs office with a grumpy newborn. When we meet with ethans doc he told us that Ethan's KIDNEYS WERE BOTH WORKING they way they should. WE WERE SO HAPPY AND THANKFUL for such a blessing.
After such great news .... we made plans to meet with our friend Ashlee back at the IUPUI campus... (right next to Riley) to take Ethan's professional newborn pictures. Ashlee is such a wonderful photographer. she worked so well with Ethan. After such a stressful long morning we made for such a fun afternoon then headed to home sweet home to share the news with our family.
I am going to post the pictures Ashlee took of Ethan enjoy....
